I format my own books, using Vellum, so that I can make them look pretty. Unfortunately, all the pretty gets stripped out when I turn them into Kindle mobi files. Files in epub (Nook, iBooks, and Kobo) keep the pretty formatting.
My husband prefers Kindle and doesn’t miss the fancy formatting. I wondered about you, though. Do you care?
I decided to find out if you care about the pretty formatting enough to choose epub, so…
TA DA!
…. my entire 7-book Once Upon a Wedding collection boxed set will be on sale until the end of the year for $6.99 (regularly $14.99). You can get the deal on(Nook, iBooks, and Kobo).
You can also test out the question for yourself with The Fairy Tale Bride, the first book in the series, which is free.
Let me know your preferences in the comments, please!
Wishing you a wonderful 2017,
Kelly

I seem to be of a Kindle person, so mobile for me. If the author has a real gift of describing a scenario then there is no need for you to add all the bells and whistles,I make my own. Thanks for being that type of author! Love your work.

I have a Kindle Fire and want mobi files. I don’t care about the fancy formatting, as long as there are visible words, sentences, paragraphs, and chapters. (I read James Joyce in college and it was a tough slog that I don’t care to repeat.)

I got started with a Kobo ereader and have added the app to my phone. When it became clear that some books were unavailable any other way, I finally added the Kindle app to my phone. I much prefer Kobo over Kindle. It just seems to be more flexible than the other. Thanks for asking.

My NOOK tablet also has the Kindle app on it, but I prefer the Nook’s epub over mobi. I just don’t care for the way the Kindle gives me information. I have several books in my Kindle app. I think I’ve finished two of them. I have 1, 800 something in my Nook library. I’ve probably finished at least half, maybe more.
Laura says
I prefer Kindle Mobi as I have a kindle fire tablet. I am disabled and spend a lot of time in the hospital. The Kindle is inexpensive and allows to do so much.
